Soup Bowls

The Penticton Art Gallery is excited to announce that the 26th Annual Soup Bowls Project will make a triumphant return to an in person event this November.

This year's Soup Bowls will be held over two nights - Nov. 10 and Nov 13, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on the grounds of the gallery, 199 Marina Way in Penticton.

The event is one of the Gallery’s most popular fundraisers and competitions. On their chosen night, guests begin by choosing a hand-crafted bowl provided by artists from both the Penticton and Summerland potters guilds and then sample 10 to 12 amazing soups from Penticton’s finest local restaurants and businesses. Bread, dessert, and drinks also provided and available. Participants are then able to take their bowl home, as well as a recipe book featuring all the delightful soups provided during the evening.

“We have quite a few restaurants in on the fun already, and this year the Gallery staff is going to try their hand at making a soup as well. With any luck we will take home one of our own prizes!” Says Chelsea Terry, PAG Communications Coordinator.

The competition portion of the event pits local restaurants, caterers, and organizations in a friendly fight for people’s choice of best soup on each night. Guests walk around with their bowls sampling the soups, and vote on their favourites. After giving out door-prizes and listening to some atmospheric music provided by Daryl O’Neill, Curator Paul Crawford announces the people’s choice winners. Custom trophies are then in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

Tickets $40 for gallery members and $45 for non-members and are now available at the gallery at 199 Marina Way or in our online store.
