In conjunction with the Wine Country Writer's Festival, the Penticton Art Gallery is proud to present a reading by artist and writer Alexandra Bischoff. For this free event, Alexandra will read and share images from their multimedia artist's book “Lloyd O”. On view at the Penticton Art Gallery as part of their upcoming solo exhibition homesick (March 22–May 10, 2025), “Lloyd O” is a poetic portrait of precarious housing and entertainment in the 1960s, told through Bischoff’s unusual family history.

ARTIST BIO:
Alexandra Bischoff is a Prairie-born artist and writer of settler descent, currently based on syilx-Okanagan territory in Keremeos, BC. They hold a Fine Arts Diploma from MacEwan University (2012), a BFA in Visual Arts Studio from Emily Carr University of Art + Design (2015), and an MFA from Concordia University in Intermedia (2021). Bischoff’s artworks manifest as multimedia installations, sculptures, and writing; her creative processes as a whole are based in durational performance. Lately, Bischoff has been researching family archives and Canada’s homesteading histories to investigate what it means to be a housing-insecure settler on Indigenous land.
