Travel to Rome with the Penticton Art Gallery

Penticton Art Gallery’s arTTalks lectures are going on the road!

The Penticton Art Gallery is proud to announce a cultural travel component to the lecture series Made in Italy delivered by Dr. Antonella De Michelis, PhD. We will touch the travertine of the Colosseum, walk the ancient basalt cobbles and trace the footsteps of Pope Joan.

Each day will start with a museum visit, followed by an afternoon walking tour both led by Dr. De Michelis. The travel package includes private coach transfer from airport, a week’s transit pass, 8 nights accommodation with breakfast, a welcome aperitivo and 5 hosted meals, all museum entrance fees, and a day excursion to the archaeological site of Ostia Antica with a guest archaeologist.

Cost: $3,750 + applicable taxes ($75.00 for city tax) package price is based on double-room occupancy; surcharge for a single room

Proposed Itinerary:

Day 1- Travel day; private coach/bus transfer to hotel.

Day 2- Museum visit: Castel Sant’Angelo. Neighbourhood walk: Via Papalis, the Pope’s Road. Welcome aperitivo (included). Free evening.

Day 3-  Museum visits: Colosseum & Roman Forum. Group dinner (included).

Day 4- Museum visit: Villa Farnesina. Neighbourhood walk: Trastevere & Jewish Ghetto. Group dinner (included).

Day 5- Museum visit: Villa Borghese. Neighbourhood walk: The Caravaggios. Group dinner (included).

Day 6- Museum: Vatican Museums & St. Peter’s. Free afternoon/evening.

Day 7- Onsite tours: Baths of Diocletian & Bernini’s St. Theresa in Ectasy; lunch break at EATALY; afternoon neighbourhood walk: EUR World Fair Site of Mussolini

Day 8- Day excursion to the archaeological site of Ostia Antica with Dr. Crispin Corrado; Beach side lunch (included). Free evening.

Day 9-  Travel day; private coach/bus transfer to airport.
