The Penticton Art Gallery exists to exhibit, interpret, preserve and promote the visual, artistic and cultural heritage of Indigenous Peoples and of Canada; to educate and engage the public on local, regional and global social issues through the visual arts.
We envision a gallery accessible to everyone as a vibrant public space in service of our community, to foster greater social engagement, critical thinking and creativity.
In setting the Mission Statement, the Board of Directors also identifies the following values:
Community Responsibility: The gallery interacts with the community by designing programs that inspire, challenge, educate and entertain while recognising excellence in the visual arts.
Professional Responsibility: The gallery employs curatorial expertise to implement the setting of exhibitions, programs and services in accordance with nationally recognised professional standards of operation.
Fiscal Responsibility: The gallery conducts operations and programs within the scope of the financial and human resources available.
