Joan MacGregor

Born: Prince George BC, 1927

Died: Grand Forks BC, 2010

Joan was born in Prince George to Ivor and Mary Guest. When she was a teenager she went to the Vancouver School of Art. Several years after she returned to P.G. she married Vern White and moved to Edmonton where Larry was born. She moved back to Prince George and worked in her father's store and later married Alex MacGregor and had Cathie, Joanne and John. The family lived on a farm outside P.G. until 1971 when they moved to Spain for 2 years. Upon returning to Canada they moved to Victoria. Joan lived there until she retired and then she moved to Peachland. She then moved to Penticton for a couple of years and then to Grand Forks in 2002. Joan lived there until last year when she moved into Parkview Manor in Midway. During her travels Joan always found ways to express herself through Art. Her favorite medium was oils but she has also worked with charcoal, pen, etchings and has done some sculptures. Joan has had art shows in Prince George, Victoria, Vancouver, Kelowna, Penticton, Summerland, Edmonton, Deer Lake and Grand Forks.

Joan's exhibition at the Penticton Art Gallery (then the Art Gallery of the South Okanagan) was in February of 2001.
